Spaces Are for PeoplE

The four words that started it all.

Peyton Interior Design:

Designing for beauty and the human experience.

Commercial design goes far beyond aesthetics. It’s about creating spaces founded in something deeper and more meaningful.

We embrace interior design as an opportunity to move, inspire, and support people, whether it’s your customers, employees…or even yourself.

As designers, our job is to discern how you want your space to feel, function, and what message you want it to send to the world. And as caretakers of your vision, we steadfastly bring it to life with thoughtful creativity, persistent action, and compassion for the whole team - including you. Especially you.

Today, Peyton Interior Design has more than 10 years of advocating for small, local Calgary businesses.

Our designs spark conversations, have people feeling the impact of what you offer, and keep them coming back for more!

That’s the magic of a commercial space designed for people.

That’s what we do.

  • Meet our founder, Kerri! A caring and compassionate leader that always goes above and beyond for her clients and team.

Kerri’s design career started with the biggest leap of faith she’s ever taken. After working in marketing and communications for years, she felt her career was missing the authenticity and positive impact that she so craved. So she decided to switch lanes and follow her longtime love of interior design.

She went on to become a Licensed Interior Designer and held positions at leading architectural and interior design firms…until her second biggest leap of faith: the start of Peyton Interior Design to support savvy, local business owners in bringing their stories to life through commercial interiors.

Listening first, acting for the good of many, and a passion for building community are the qualities that make Kerri’s leadership style so inspiring. She has the unique gift of infusing a space with functionality, smart brand strategy, and purposeful creativity for one-of-a-kind design that people notice and love. All done with an undeniable sense of compassion that promotes collaboration.

Outside of her work day, Kerri is transforming the interior design industry into a community that chooses an ‘everybody wins’ mentality over competition. She generously shares what she’s learned to build the skills and confidence of young designers through mentorship and education.

“Your space is a core brand asset. It needs original design outcomes that make sense for your business. That’s how you save and grow your livelihood. That’s how people will truly get behind your business.”

  • Meet Avril, the team’s go-getter that gets things done. She’s the planner, decision-maker and action-taker that’s always on top of it.

Avril’s career in design started when she returned to school following several positions within the construction industry, including retailers, electrical trades and millworkers. Avril started as Peyton Design’s summer student, and made such an impression that we brought her back after she graduated!

As a commercial designer, her gift lies in never missing the small details. Clients love her for her diligence, attention to detail, and resourcefulness. This YouTube queen can figure anything out. And we mean anything!

When Avril’s not working, she spends her time with her ever-growing rescue dog, Gunther, who has stampeded his way into her heart. Although she comes from and loves the small-town life, she’s always up for a traveling adventure (like the time she was selected as a Canadian delegate for a summer study program at the University of Amsterdam!), which inspires her work in so many ways.

We acknowledge that what we call Alberta is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, presently subject to Treaties 6, 7, and 8. Namely: the Blackfoot Confederacy – Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika – the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda, and the Tsuu T’ina Nation and the Métis People of Alberta. This includes the Métis Settlements and the Six Regions of the Métis Nation of Alberta within the historical Northwest Metis Homeland. We acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations.

We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
